‘Weird Creatures’ gets a raft of global sales

ITV Studios Global Entertainment has secured a series of international sales for series one and two of Icon Films' Weird Creatures with Nick Baker, taking the factual series into more than 40 territories worldwide. Originally produced for Five in the UK and Animal Planet International, the series follows presenter and naturalist Nick Baker as he travels to some of the most remote and inhospitable corners of the earth, searching for strange and intriguing creatures. Series one has been picked up for broadcast by Pro Plus (Slovenia), Mediacorp (Singapore), Slovenska Produkcna (Slovakia), Next Step (Thailand) and Asia Television Limited (Hong Kong). Koch Media (Germany) and Source Investments (Netherlands) have acquired home entertainment rights for the series. For both series one and two, Television New Zealand, Yleisradio Oy (Finland) and Eidiseis Dot Com S.A (Greece) have acquired the rights, as has the pacific regions Smithsonian Networks and Network Ten (Australia) has picked up series two. The third series of Weird Creatures with Nick Baker will get its first UK airing on Animal Planet from Thursday 11 February.
