FremantleMedia dating competition format Take Me Out launches in the Philippines this week on the GMA Network. The Philippine version will be hosted by Filipino singer Jay-R, and is the country’s first studio-based dating show. The program sees 30 single women assess the attributes of one male contestant. Each woman has a light box which she can extinguish at any time if she hears or sees something in the man that she doesn’t like. The man can then eventually choose a date from among the remaining women, and the program follows the couple on its first date. The format, created by FremantleMedia France, was first commissioned in Australia and has been performing well in various territories, including China, Sweden, and Indonesia where it has spawned three versions.
