Travel Channel names new SVP creative and brand strategy

Travel Channel has announced the appointment of Patalia Tate as the channel's new senior vice president of marketing, creative and brand strategy. The announcement was made by Travel Channel president Laureen Ong. Tate joins the channel from another Scripps Network, Food Nework, where she was vice president of brand creative. 'Patalia is recognized as one of the industry’s best creative minds, and her leadership has helped elevate Food Network to one of the strongest, most powerful brands in all of media,' said Ong. 'Patalia will be a big asset to Travel Channel’s marketing and creative efforts. She understands the power of strong brands, and the impact they have on business results. Her leadership will help us contemporize the look, feel and voice of the network, and make us more relevant in the category and more meaningful with consumers.' In her new role Tate will oversee all creative including series and brand campaigns, print design, packaging for brand extentions and the overall creative brand strategy for the channel. Prior to joining Scripps through Food, Tate was director, marketing and strategy for A&E Television Networks' History International, History Channel en espanol and Military History Channel. She has also held the roles of director, on-air promotion at History; managing producer at A&E; writer/producer for PBS' Dallas affiliate and the CBS affiliate in Houston, Texas.
