Gotham Awards’ best doc nominees announced

The Independent Filmmaker Project has announced the nominees for the 20th Anniversary Gotham Independent Film Awards' six competitive categories, which includes best documentary. The nominees are 12th & Delaware from directors/producers Heidi Ewing and Rachel Grady (HBO Documentary Films), Charles Ferguson's Inside Job (Sony Pictures Classics), Laura Poitras' The Oath (Zeitgeist Films and American Documentary/POV), Martin Scorsese's Public Speaking, produced by Scorsese, Vanity Fair's Graydon Carter, Margaret Bodde and Fran Lebowitz (HBO Documentary Films) and Sweetgrass from directors Lucien Castaing-Taylor and Ilisa Barbash, (Cinema Guild). The winners will be announced at a November 29 awards ceremony.
