Gerardine Wurzburg, director of the Academy Award winning short Educating Peter, has partnered with the Autism Society on the theatrical release of her feature length doc, Wretches & Jabberers. The doc, to be released in April to commemorate National Autism Awareness Month, focuses on two men with autism, as they travel the world to change attitudes about autism. It will be distributed by Area 23a, which specialize in event-driven films and will be released as 'movievents,' screenings combined with live panel discussions with self-advocates with autism, autism educators and family members of autistic people. Wretches & Jabberers is produced by Douglas Biklen and Gerardine Wurzburg, executive produced by John Hussman and funded by the Hussman Foundation.
