Iceland’s 365 Media and Icelandic Television Company will be the new homes of Food Network, a joint venture between Scripps Networks Interactive and Chello Zone.

365 Media operates six television stations in the country, while Icelandic Television Company, also known as Skjárinn, is a digital TV service provider.  Both platforms operate cable and IPTV systems.

Nick Thorogood, MD of Food Network EMEA commented in a statement, “Food Network’s launch into Iceland adds another new territory to our expansion across EMEA. Having the channel air across both Icelandic platforms ensures we reach the whole region for the first time with Food Network’s quality and entertaining programming.”

Food Network programming, appealing to foodies and non-foodies, include Iron Chef America (pictured), Chopped and Food Network Challenge and daytime shows like Barefoot Contessa with Ina Garten and 30 Minute Meals with U.S. celebrity chef Rachael Ray.
