Looks like there’s still gold in the garage, as A&E has racked up record ratings for the season two premiere of its hit series Storage Wars (pictured).

The U.S. cable net aired two back-to-back episodes for the July 20 season premiere, at 10 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. EST. According to A&E, the 10:30 episode became the net’s most watched telecast to date amongst the adult 18-49 and 25-54 demos, with 2.9 million adults for each demo; and the most watched series telecast on the network to date, with 5.1 million total viewers.

The full-hour season premiere had the top season-opening performance of any series in A&E history to date.

The series is produced by FremantleMedia-owned Original Productions. Exec producers are Thom Beers and Philip D. Segal; A&E exec producers are David McKillop and Elaine Frontain Bryant.
