Toronto-based distribution company Tricon Films & Television is bringing a slate of unscripted series, including documentary series Metal Evolution, to MIPCOM in Cannes next month.

The definitive history of heavy metal music is the focus of Metal Evolution, from the team behind Metal: A Headbanger’s Journey and Rush: Beyond the Lighted Stage.

The 11-part, hour-long documentary series sees host and producer Sam Dunn crossing the globe to meet with heavy metal personalities including Alice Cooper (pictured above, with Dunn), Rob Zombie, and members of Metallica.

Other Tricon series include Love Trap (30 x 30-minutes), where MTV personality Evan Starkman sets up a person with their secret crush; Game Changers (8 x 30-minutes) sees host Andrew Anthony focusing on new inventions and the people who created them; and Ex Wives Rock (14 x 30-minutes), a series following the highs and lows of women who were married to rock stars.

Ex Wives Rock stars Susan Dixon, ex-wife of Warrant bassist Jerry Dixon; Bobbie Brown, ex-wife of Warrant frontman Jani Lane; Athena Lee, ex-wife of Scorpions drummer James Kottak; and Sharise Neil, the ex-wife of Mötley Crüe frontman Vince Neil.
