Former Maverick Television exec Nick Hornby has joined UK pubcaster Channel 4 as commissioning editor for factual entertainment.

Overseeing key commissions and tasked with finding new program ideas, Hornby will report to deputy head of factual entertainment, Liam Humphreys.

Hornby replaces the departing Dan Berbridge, who served as Channel 4′s executive producer for factual entertainment.

At Maverick TV, Hornby was the series director of C4′s The Model Agency, which gave unprecedented access to Premier Model Management’s office in London. Before that, he was the head of factual for North One Television, where he executive produced shows including My Child’s Big Fat Birthday Party.
