U.S. network TLC has named two VPs of development, with Mariana Flynn promoted and Amy Savitsky joining from sister brand Discovery Channel.

Both will be charged with strengthening and expanding TLC’s slate of programming. Flynn, who has been with TLC since 2007, is upped from director of development and covers the West Coast, based in TLC’s LA office.

Amy Savitsky joins as East Coast VP of development and is located in the company’s Silver Spring, MD headquarters. At Discovery Channel she developed series including Swamp Brothers and Texas Drug Wars.

Both execs report to TLC general manager Amy Winter, who said of the appointments: “TLC continues to air some of the most engaging and buzz-worthy programming on television, and Mariana and Amy have already made incredible contributions to our success.

“As respected members of the production community, they are actively working to develop the most compelling content for the network.”
