Indie prodcos A. Smith & Co. Productions and Level 1 Entertainment have signed an agreement to develop and produce an as-yet-untitled docuseries featuring boxing champion Paulie Malignaggi.

The proposed series, which does not yet have a network attached, promises to give audiences a fresh look into the life of the athlete, as he prepares for his April 29 championship fight with fellow boxer Vyacheslav Senchenko.

According to A. Smith & Co., cameras will follow Malignaggi and his “quirky Italian-American entourage” through the trials and tribulations of love, boxing and business.

“Paulie Malignaggi is one of the most compelling and entertaining boxers in the sports world today, and an even more extreme character,” said Frank Sinton, chief operating officer of A. Smith & Co. Productions.

“The transition that Paulie Malignaggi and his entourage undertake into a world of unknowns is a captivating journey that audiences can relate to.”
