Banijay Group-owned Air Productions and FremantleMedia France are set to coproduce a new version of the more than 20-year-old game show format Everybody’s Equal for France 2.

Called Que Le Meilleur Gagne, the French version will premiere on June 12 and is hosted by Nagui (pictured), the host of the 1991 series on France 2. Air Productions and FremantleMedia France are producing 22 episodes.

The game show format begins with 200 contestants who must answer questions correctly to avoid elimination. One player is left standing to claim the cash prize.

The original format aired on ITV in the UK from 1989 to 1991, and was adapted in countries including Japan, Canada and Lebanon.

Que Le Meilleur Gagne is a classic, evergreen game show format. Its combination of fun and simplicity is a winning formula which pulls in great numbers,” said Nagui, founder and head of Air Productions.

FremantleMedia will exclusively distribute the new version of Everybody’s Equal internationally.
