In the build-up to April’s MIPTV Toronto-based Si Entertainment has announced the hiring of Abby Ellis as its new sales executive representing Latin America and Asia.

Ellis has amassed experience as a freelance producer working regularly with companies such as Cheval Noir and Gordon Grake Inc. on the unscripted series Pick a Puppy, Solange Attwood, Si’s VP of international sales and development, explained to Playback. (Si distributes Pick a Puppy.)

The company also announced that it has added the factual series Rebel Without A Kitchen (13 x 30 minutes, HD) to its catalog. Produced by General Purpose Pictures for Travel + Escape, it follows host Matt Basile, (a.k.a. Fidel Gastro) and an army of followers who are riding the wave of the street food movement.

“I’m delighted with our continued growth, both in the high caliber content we are acquiring across unscripted genres, and the addition of executive Abby Ellis who brings a real understanding of the evolving content needs of her clients,” said Attwood in a statement.
