MIPTV ’13: ORF Enterprises pens deals for “Hoopoe”

ORF Enterprises, the distribution arm of the Austrian pubcaster, has completed a raft of deals for Return of the Hoopoe (pictured), selling the 50-minute wildlife doc into Germany, France, Italy and Japan.

ORF Enterprises, the distribution arm of the Austrian pubcaster, has completed a raft of deals for Return of the Hoopoe (pictured), selling the 50-minute wildlife doc into Germany, France, Italy and Japan.

The doc looks at how the small bird made a comeback in the heart of Europe, and was acquired by Rai, Geo & Geo, Duna, EBS, NHK and Arte.

The title was one of several sales for ORF over the past week at MIPTV in Cannes. The distributor also sold the doc Owl’s Odyssey to Rai, Geo & Geo, Duna, RCS-RDS, TVP, and DaVinci Media; and penned a deal with TVP for Nelson Mandela – A Life for Freedom and The Red Billionaires.

Elsewhere, Schladming – Magic Mountains went to Rai, Geo & Geo, Duna, EBS and France 5; while 7 Wonders went to Minika and Irib.
