CNN, ITV line-up Prince William special

Both networks will air the special Prince William's Passion: New Father, New Hope, in which the British royal (pictured, right) sits down to talk about fatherhood and wildlife conservation.

CNN and ITV have landed the first interview with Prince William (pictured, right) since the birth of his first child last month.

On September 15, the U.S. cable net will air the one-hour special Prince William’s Passion: New Father, New Hope, in which the British royal sits down with Max Foster to discuss his hopes for his newborn son and his passion for saving endangered species in Africa.

To tease the special, CNN will air part of the interview,  in which the Prince reflects on fatherhood, during morning show New Day on August 19.

In the British version, which is coproduced by Spun Gold TV in partnership with CNN, doc-maker Jane Treays will interview William about fatherhood and wildlife conservation. It will also include footage from the inaugural Tusk Conservation Awards, which takes place on September 12, where the Prince and his wife Kate Middleton will meet nominees at a private reception – their first public appearance since the birth.

Prince William’s Passion: New Father, New Hope¬†will air in the UK on ITV in September, with the exact date TBC.
