It has been an incredible two years for A+E Networks’ H2, growing more than 75% in its key A25-54 demo since History launched the spin-off network. Currently, H2 is the number one emerging network in ad-supported cable among all key demographics (A25-54, A18-49, M25-54, M18-49 and total viewers).
And, as the top emerging brand in cable, H2 is now on the lookout for emerging producers.
H2, along with realscreen, is launching the H2 Development Lab Contest, awarding a series of development deals of up to US$20,000 each for up-and-coming producers.
Producers MUST submit a 2-5 minute video pitch, or a series paper pitch along with a 2-5 minute video sample of their company’s work.

The deadline for submissions is January 16, 2014.
Five winners will be selected and then revealed at a special session at the Realscreen Summit on January 27, 2014.
“I’ve had an incredible experience finding new producers and shows for H2 through the Realscreen Summit,” says Paul Cabana, senior VP and head of programming for H2. “Two years ago, Committee Films, a small Minneapolis-based production company, that had never produced a TV series showed me a pitch tape. We bought 13 episodes on the spot and now America Unearthed is our #1 new series, and is now in its second season. A year before that, I saw the tape from Stephen David Entertainment that became The Men Who Built America, which would go on to become a huge Emmy-winning hit for both History and H2.

Only registered delegates to the Realscreen Summit, who are permanent legal residents of the US and are 18 years or older, are eligible to submit.
