Endemol exec Caroline Baumgard (pictured) is joining Banijay Studios North America as chief creative officer, effective immediately.

The move reunites her with former Endemol North America chairman and CEO David Goldberg, who stepped down last year after 13 years to lead the Banijay Group’s recently-formed North American production division as CEO, and as Banijay Group President.

Based in Los Angeles, Baumgard will develop original content across multiple genres for the North American market that the company can also roll out internationally.

At Endemol, she led unscripted development and international format adaptation for the American market. Her credits include ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition and Wipeout, and NBC’s Deal or No Deal.

“For more than 12 years, Caroline’s skills and expertise in identifying and creating potential future hits were a key driving force in the growth of Endemol USA,” Goldberg said in a statement. “Her experience, contacts and creative instincts will play a vital role in the development of this exciting new company with the biproduct resulting in the creation of formats that will travel abroad and help fuel the growth of our global business.”

Goldberg is overseeing Banijay Group’s expansion into English language territories and Latin America. Banijay Studios North America is the second Banijay producer in the region. The Real World producer Bunim/Murray Productions was acquired by the group in 2010.
