Travel Channel hitting the beach with expanded “Swimsuit”

The five-part Sports Illustrated: The Making of Swimsuit 2015 will anchor the U.S. cable network's 'Beach Week' strand next February.

Travel Channel and Sports Illustrated are teaming up to produce a series of specials about the magazine’s 2015 Swimsuit Edition.

Sports Illustrated: The Making of Swimsuit 2015 (five x one-hour, working title, pictured) will anchor the U.S. cable network’s ‘Beach Week’ strand in February.

This is the third consecutive year Travel Channel and the magazine have teamed up on a swimsuit edition special and the first to expand to five episodes.

The specials will spotlight the locales and models involved in the Swimsuit Edition and touch on the sometimes challenging conditions photographers and video crews must weather to produce the annual multiplatform feature.

Sports Illustrated: The Making of Swimsuit 2015will be produced by Sports Illustrated Productions and exec produced by Paul Fichtenbaum, Ian Orefice and MJ Day. Dale Roy Robinson is the executive producer for Travel Channel.
