Fox closes door on “Knock Knock Live”

Fox has knocked Ryan Seacrest’s wish-fulfillment series Knock Knock Live (pictured) off its schedule after two episodes due to low ratings, according to reports.

The show’s July 21 premiere attracted 1.7 million viewers and the second episode drew 1.6 million. The network will air encores of The Last Man on Earth and Brooklyn Nine-Nine in its slot going forward.

Produced by American Idol franchise creator Simon Fuller’s XIX Entertainment and Dick Clark Productions, Knock Knock Live is a live event format that follows a team of producers who travel the U.S. knocking on people’s doors and giving them quizzes for a chance to win prizes and meet celebrities.

Seacrest hosted the Fox version from a Los Angeles studio and Kellie Pickler and Ross Matthews were correspondents. Justin Bieber and David Beckham appeared as celebrity guests.

The series was exec produced by Seacrest and Fuller, Michael Herwick, Allen Shapiro, Mike Mahan, Mark Bracco, Stijn Bakkers and Nicolle Yaron.
