MTV UK’s Vanessa Brookman boards Turner

In the newly created role, the former Viacom exec (pictured) will oversee the company's content strategy for general entertainment and kids programming in the UK as well as Nordic and Baltic countries.

Turner Broadcasting has hired Viacom exec Vanessa Brookman (pictured) as VP of content and creative for the UK and Northern Europe.

In the newly created role, she will shape the company’s content strategy for general entertainment and kids programming in the UK, Nordic and Baltic countries. She is responsible for channels, digital, creative and presentation teams of around 50 people.

She will be based in Turner’s EMEA headquarters in London and report to the company’s senior VP and MD for the UK and Northern Europe, Ian McDonough.

Prior to joining Turner, Brookman was VP of programming for Viacom International Media Networks-owned MTV and digital channel 5* in the UK. Previously, she worked as head of fiction and children’s at BBC Vision.

“The newly created VP content and creative role also exemplifies our commitment to acquiring and developing the best content for our channels and I am confident that Vanessa’s great track record and experience will be a critical asset,” McDonough said in a statement.
