BBC Worldwide is bringing branded blocks of BBC Earth programming to channels in Western Europe.

The two deals for BBC Earth will provide Canal+ 1 in Spain and VRT-owned channel Eén in Dutch-speaking Belgium with unprecedented access to BBC Earth programming and territory premieres for natural history and premium factual content.

The BBC Earth branded block launched across Spain in June with the premiere of Sharks (pictured), a two-part documentary examining the king fish’s diversity and secret lives.

Meanwhile, BBC Earth programming is to launch this autumn across the VRT-owned Eén in Flanders, the northern region of Belgium. Series set to premiere across the channel include Life Story, a six-part docuseries spotlighting the animal kingdom’s dangerous journey from birth to parenthood; and Africa, a five-part series exposing intimate encounters with African wildlife.

“It is a key part of our strategy to bring the highest-quality content and the BBC Earth brand to wider audiences across Western Europe and securing these BBC Earth blocks highlights our long-standing partners’ commitment to our programming,” said Tobi de Graaff, executive VP of Western Europe for BBC Worldwide, in a statement.
