Off the Fence’s Eyre joins Factory Media

Georgie Eyre has been tapped as head of acquisitions at UK- and Germany-based content company Factory Media, where she will reunite with former Off the Fence colleague Bo Stehmeier.

Former Off the Fence exec Georgie Eyre (pictured) has been tapped as head of acquisitions at UK- and Germany-based content company Factory Media.

Eyre – who previously served as acquisitions head for Off the Fence – has now been charged with overseeing acquisitions for The Rights Factory, a new international rights and content-distribution division created by Bo Stehmeier, Off the Fence’s former distribution head who exited the company to join Factory Media as director of rights and distribution.

In the new position, Eyre will negotiate acquisitions for genre-related content with partners from the production, broadcasting and brand communities. Her duties will also include setting up deals to “ensure a steady flow of formats, archive material, talent, publishing rights and finished programming” for Factory Media.

In addition, the company – which specializes in lifestyle, sports and culture – will be making direct commissions, which will be managed by Eyre, as well as co-production financing and securing pre-sales.

Factory Media will next month be attending the MIPCOM market in Cannes for the first time to showcase its first branded-content TV project, The Indestructibles (12 x 30 minutes), which is premiering on UKTV channel Dave on October 4.

The company is positioning itself as a classic distribution platform; short-form content acquisition and curation service; and a brand-directed content production and holistic distribution service.
