Discovery Channel and Original Productions are prepping a spin-off for one of the channel’s biggest hits, slated for fall of 2016.

Deadliest Catch: Dungeon Cove (w/t) follows families of crab fisherman in Newport, Oregon – one of the few remaining fishing towns stretching along the Pacific coast. The show will also take its cameras aboard the vessels that head out upon that stretch of sea.

Deadliest Catch is one of the most iconic and highly-regarded series on television,” said Rich Ross, group president of Discovery Channel, in a statement. “This is an opportunity to extend the franchise with new storylines and characters.”

“Our successful partnership with Rich Ross and Discovery has given us the opportunity to tell yet another amazing story of exciting and dangerous adventures at sea,” added Philip D. Segal, president and CEO of Original Productions.

Executive producers for Original Productions are Philip D. Segal, Sarah Whalen and John Gray, with Johnny Beechler as showrunner. For Discovery Channel, Joseph Boyle is executive producer.
