BBC Cymru Wales has appointed Nick Andrews as head of development.

A development exec, producer and director, he will oversee development for television, radio and digital projects for the Welsh division of the British pubcaster.

“He will have the freedom to roam across all genres and services to develop the best high-impact ideas for our audiences,” said Judith Winnan, head of factual and music at BBC Cymru Wales, in a statement.

Andrews’ development credits include The First World War From Above for BBC1 and The Call Centre for BBC3. He also led project management of BBC Wales’ Dylan Thomas season and secured a major BBC2 commission for the same network.

In addition, the exec also worked as a producer and director. In 2011, his doc Roger: Genocide Baby won the BAFTA Cymru Breakthrough Award and he also helmed the BBC3 film I Woke Up Gay.
