Endemol Shine UK has acquired branded content producer Electric Robin and talent management company OP Talent in two separate deals, and MIPFormats has opened its call for entries to its International Pitch Competition.

Endemol Shine UK acquires Electric Robin, OP Talent
Endemol Shine UK has acquired a short-form branded content company and a talent management company in two separate deals.

Electric Robin and OP Talent will join the company’s commercial department, which also includes factual producer Dragonfly, digital studio Endemol Beyond UK, social talent agency Flipside and short-form producer ChannelFlip.

Electric Robin was founded by Kevin Batchelor and Ross Brandon in 2013. It has produced branded films for brands such as Doritos, Superdry and Team GB and promos for ITV (pictured) and reality shows such as Strictly Come Dancing and Britain’s Got Talent.

OP Talent was established in 2012 by Liam Chivers and works with entertainment companies, brands and marketing agencies to produce content, brand integrations and product sponsorships for talent in the gaming world. Its roster includes game commentator KSI, Legends Of Gaming host Ali-A and YouTube prankster Comedy Shorts Gamer.

Both will continue to operate independently and report into Endemol Shine UK’s commercial director Laurence Jones.

MIPFormats International Pitch Competition opens call for entries
The call for entries is on for the annual MIPFormats International Pitch Competition, presented in partnership with all3media International and to be held during MIPFormats in Cannes, running from April 2-3.

Producers and content creators from around the world are encouraged to submit new, original unscripted entertainment formats for consideration. The jury, comprised of senior execs from various all3media production labels, will be chaired by Studio Lambert head Stephen Lambert.

The winner of the competition will receive a €5,000 cash prize awarded by all3media International, plus a package worth €15,000 aimed at further developing the winning format to be ready to pitch to broadcasters. Submissions must be received before February 22, 2016. For more information, visit
