Adam Stotsky has been upped at E!, from general manager to president of the NBCU cable pop culture-oriented network.

Stotsky, who also serves as president of sister NBCU cable brand Esquire Network, now takes on oversight for unscripted programming and development at the home of Keeping Up With the Kardashians and I Am Cait.

In addition, Stotsky will continue to oversee all day-to-day operations of the network, including news, digital, marketing, communications, research and acquisitions. He reports to Frances Berwick, president, lifestyle networks, for NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment.

“Adam is an exceptional senior executive who has been successful in leading the teams at E! and Esquire Network and setting their strategic direction for future growth,” said Berwick in a statement. “I am excited to announce his well-deserved promotion and expand his responsibilities at E! as we continue to build on our success as a multi-platform powerhouse offering exclusive access to celebrity lifestyles and the world of entertainment.”

In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, published in conjunction with the announcement of Stotsky’s promotion, the new E! president said his immediate concern will be strengthening the network’s position as “the category-killer for all things pop culture.”

“…Over the course of the past 18 months, we’ve focused our collective energy on where we can really grow the business and grow our relationship with our audience around the globe,” he said elsewhere in the interview. “Part of that is focusing in on primetime with franchise-able, repeatable series.”

Prior to his appointments at E! and Esquire Network, Stotsky served as general manager for the G4 brand, and also had stints as president of marketing for NBC Entertainment, senior marketing posts for Syfy, and VP of marketing for Discovery Communications.
