BBC Worldwide (BBCWW) has acquired Levan Tsikurishvili’s Stories, a music documentary on Swedish DJ and electronic producer Tim Bergling, otherwise known as Avicii (pictured).

Produced by OPA People Production in association with Sveriges Television, the hour-long one-off provides exclusive behind-the-scenes access while tracking the story of Avicii’s musical career, from his early days of posting songs online to headlining music festivals around the world, and having to cancel a year’s worth of tour dates due to illness.

The film will also shadow the musician in studio during the recording process of his acclaimed 2015 sophomore follow-up, Stories.

BBCWW will launch the film at next month’s MIPTV market in Cannes with Avicii in attendance.

Additionally, the commercial arm of the UK pubcaster will distribute the documentary internationally and holds the worldwide rights for TV – excluding Sweden – and VOD.
