American Ninja Warrior prodco A. Smith & Co. Productions has bolstered its development team with a promotion and new hire.
Rupert Dobson has been upped from VP to SVP of development, while Duncan McIntosh has been hired as VP of development.
Together, the pair is tasked with creating new series across A. Smith & Co’s Entertainment, Dox and Sports divisions.
Dobson (pictured) held the position of VP of development since 2015, working on series wuch as Container Homes and Team Ninja Warrior. Prior to A. Smith & Co., Dobson served as the VP of programming and development at BASE Productions, where he was an executive producer for series such as Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files, Stuntbusters, Car Science, Haunted Highway, Legend Quest, Deep South Paranormal and Human Wrecking Balls.
Dobson previously worked in the UK for Twofour Broadcast, producing series for networks including Channel 4, Sky, and ITV. During that time, he received a BAFTA nomination for Channel Five’s A Different Life.
Most recently, Dobson was part of the team that developed the upcoming NBC competition series The Titan Games, featuring Dwayne Johnson.
McIntosh joins A. Smith & Co from Endemol Shine North America, where he served as a producer for non-scripted formats.
McIntosh helped create and worked with properties such as MasterChef, MasterChef Jr., Biggest Loser, Page Six TV, Fear Factor, Hunted and Deal or No Deal. Prior to Endemol Shine, McIntosh was director of development at Zodiak Americas and Zodiak USA.
