The latest episode of Jimmy Fox’s Unscripted and Unprepared podcast is now available via iTunes, Google Play and Stitcher, featuring a live taping from the Realscreen Summit with legendary unscripted producer Jon Murray.
Murray is widely credited with inventing the modern reality television genre, and continues to inspire, influence and entertain television audiences worldwide.
Since the 1992 launch of The Real World (MTV), he has created and executive produced some of the industry’s most innovative, unscripted television programs. Most recently, Murray executive produced A&E’s acclaimed series, Born This Way, about young adults with Down Syndrome and their families. The series won the 2016 Emmy Award for Outstanding Unstructured Reality Series.
Murray was interviewed by Fox at the 2018 Realscreen Summit in Washington DC, where Murray received a special Legacy Award for his contribution to the unscripted genre, and television at large.
Unscripted and Unprepared, produced by Jimmy Fox in partnership with realscreen, began in late June 2016, and has so far featured interviews with Thom Beers, Ugly Brother Studios’ Mike Duffy, History’s Eli Lehrer, Mark Itkin, Jonathan Koch, Ben Silverman, Jane Latman, Heather Olander, David Eilenberg, and Vinnie Malhotra, among many others.
Fox’s production credits include the Emmy-winning CNN series United Shades of America, CNBC’s Make Me a Millionaire Inventor and Investigation Discovery’s Is O.J. Innocent: The Missing Evidence.
With Main Event Media, credits include Spike’s true-crime series It Was Him: The Many Murders of Ed Edwards, as well as the unscripted comedy, Hollywood Darlings for POP.
