Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) has promoted Jesper Dahl to general manager and VP in the Nordics.
Taking up the position on Oct. 1, Dahl will be tasked with spearheading Viacom’s growth strategy throughout the region. Dahl reports into James Currell, president of VIMN in the UK, Northern and Eastern Europe.
The executive takes up the position from Andrea Sahlgren who is departing VIMN to join Nordic Entertainment Group after 12 years at Viacom.
Dahl most recently served as VP of content distribution and sales for Viacom’s Nordic regions, where he helped launch the Nordic streaming service Paramount+, which offers an exclusive first pay-TV windowing for Paramount Pictures’ new movie releases and other Viacom content.
Dahl also held numerous positions within the sales and distribution space at Viacom in the Nordics, MTV Networks and Canal Digital.
“Jesper has played an instrumental role in many of our major developments and key successes in the Nordics, including the launch of our popular new SVOD service, Paramount+ and significantly growing our distribution footprint in the region,” said Currell in a statement. “I’m delighted that Jesper is set to take the helm for us in this important market and that we have such breadth of talent to draw on from within Viacom, following Andrea’s departure, who leaves the business in great shape.”
