Former Windfall Films exec Ian Holt has joined Emmy Award-winning prodco Nutopia as an executive producer.

Holt, an Emmy and BAFTA nominee, will work closely alongside Nutopia’s team of executive producers to manage the company’s upcoming projects and expand its factual slate. Holt will also work with the firm’s development team to broaden the company’s reach in both U.S. and UK markets, as well as oversee international co-production opportunities.

Holt, who assumes his new position on Jan. 14, previously served as executive producer at London-based prodco Windfall Films where he worked on a variety of development projects. His executive production credits include The Great Pyramid: The New Evidence, Unearthed and Mythical Beasts.

Before Windfall Films, Holt was the head of specialist and popular factual at Maverick Television where he served as executive producer on The Truth About Sugar, Island Hospital and Bizarre ER.

Former Discovery Channel president Jane Root launched Nutopia in 2008 with offices in London and Washington DC. Nutopia’s body of work includes the Emmy Award-winning series America: The Story of Us for History U.S., and most recently served up One Strange Rock for National Geographic and The Great American Read for PBS.
