GRB signs international sales deals

Global content creator and distributor GRB Studios has completed multiple territory sales deals for a slate of true crime, paranormal and weapons programming.

Blue Ant Media has picked up the 10-episode second season of the paranormal investigative series Occult Crime in English-speaking Canada. The series offers a glimpse into the minds of some of history’s most dangerous killers, claiming to take their marching orders from devil.

Elsewhere, France’s Planete+ CI has acquired the celebrity obsession series Stalker Files (10 x 60 minutes) following its sale to SuperRTL in Germany last year. The series features expert interviews and explores high-profile stalking crimes involving Madonna, Gwyneth Paltrow, Steven Spielberg and others.

Meanwhile, AETN UK has picked up the weapons docuseries Men at Arms — Art of War (pictured; 18 x 60 minutes), hosted by Danny Trejo, for its African territories. The series features expert craftsman recreating historical weapons to test their quality, strength and practicality.

Finally, CBS Chellozone UK has acquired three seasons and a one-hour special of Auction Kings for their EMEA feed. The series follows Atlanta-based Paul Brown and his work running auction houses.

Fulwell 73 acquires UK post-production company Creativity Media

London-based prodco Fulwell 73 is acquiring UK post-production company Creativity Media.

Fulwell will upgrade existing post-production operations and merge with Creativity’s post-production team. The combined team will report directly to co-MDs Patrick Fischer and Richard Kondal.

Creativity Media will continue to work for new and existing third-party clients, expanding their client base in film and TV, all while bringing their expertise in feature film picture and sound finishing, VFX and delivery to Fullwell’s predominantly TV-based expertise.

Stella EOC and Wiggin advised Fulwell 73 on the transaction, while Marriott Harrison advised Creativity Media.

No financial details of the acquisition have yet been disclosed.

Distribution360 starts production on Titanic: Stories From The Deep

Global distribution company Distribution360 is teaming with Infinity Films and Partners In Motion on a new factual series about the ill-fated Titanic voyage.

As previously announcedTitanic: Stories From the Deep (4 x 60 minutes) revisits the voyage of the Titanic, telling stories based on the artifacts found on the sunken ship.

Victor Garber, who starred in James Cameron’s 1997 narrative feature Titanic, will serve as presenter.

Ron Goetz and Shel Piercy serve as executive producers, with Cynthia Chapman producing and Theresa Piercy story producing.

Hollywood Suite and BDHQ-TV, a premium unscripted YouTube channel, commissioned the series in Canada, with support from the Rogers Documentary Fund. Distribution360 has secured presales with broadcast partners UKTV (UK and Ireland), Viasat World for Viasat History (Scandinavia, Eastern Europe and Sub Saharan Africa) and History on Foxtel (Australia and New Zealand).

The series is set to deliver in summer 2019.

Chile and Uruguay commission local versions of What Would Your Kid Do?

Twofour Rights is expanding its reach into Latin America with a double commission for local adaptations of What Would Your Kid Do? in Chile and Uruguay.

Boomerang TV Chile will make a local version for Canal 13, while Uruguay’s Saeta TV Canal 10 has commissioned 16 episodes from producer OZ Media, to air later in the year.

The series, which challenges parents to predict how their children will behave in different classroom settings, has already sold in numerous territories, including Belgium, Turkey, Hungary and Russia, as well as options in Canada and India.

The sales were brokered by Eniela Bella, Twofour’s VP Sales for EMEA and Latin America.
