YouTube has commissioned Vox Media Studios to produce the six-part docuseries Retro Tech starring YouTube creator Marques Brownlee.

Based on the YouTuber’s popular series Dope Tech, the unscripted digital series will document Brownlee – known by his channel name MKBHD – as he unboxes, reviews and reveals vintage tech-driven products that defined pop culture.

Each episode of the series will showcase Brownlee as he explores the history of nostalgic products while investigating the impact each product had on society and the inventors behind each product. The series will also feature interviews with a variety of YouTube creators, educators and inventors.

Retro Tech is slated to premiere on Brownlee’s YouTube channel in December.

Brownlee, 25, serves as one of the largest technology creators on YouTube’s platform with more than eight million subscribers and 1.3 billion views across his channel. His recent videos include Talking Tech with Elon Musk (4.9 million views) and Google Pixel 3 Impressions (3.5 million views).
