Global distributor Kew Media Distribution has been tapped to distribute director Alison Ellwood’s upcoming documentary Laurel Canyon.

The documentary celebrates the world of musicians who inhabited Laurel Canyon, a mountainous neighborhood located in the Hollywood Hills of Los Angeles, California. Through a wealth of rare and newly unearthed footage and audio recordings, Laurel Canyon provides an intimate portrait of such artists as Joni Mitchell, The Doors, the Mamas and the Papas, The Byrds, Crosby, Stills & Nash, the Eagles, and more.

Laurel Canyon is being executive produced by Frank Marshall of The Kennedy/Marshall Company; Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey of Amblin Television; Craig Kallman and Mark Pinkus of Warner Music Group; Alex Gibney, Stacey Offman and Richard Perello of Jigsaw Productions; and Jeff Pollack.

The film is produced by The Kennedy/Marshall Company’s Ryan Suffern and Jigsaw’s Erin Edeiken.

Kew Media Distribution launched sales for the documentary at this year’s MIPTV and will be showcasing the film at the Cannes Film Festival next month.

Laurel Canyon will premiere in the U.S. on Epix in late 2019.
