Former STV Productions executive Nick Johns has joined All3Media-owned studio Lime Pictures as head of development for unscripted in the UK.
Johns (pictured) reports directly to head of unscripted Sarah Tyekiff, who is supported by creative director Rebecca Kenny Smith on Lime’s current slate of unscripted programming. He takes over the role from Ben Crompton, who was elevated to EVP of development for the company’s U.S. division this past January.
Before joining Lime, Johns served as head of entertainment development in the London office of Glasgow-headquartered content creator STV Productions. During his tenure, he landed commissions for numerous broadcasters, including BBC, Channel 4, ITV1 and ITV2, and UKTV. Johns previous credits include ITV’s Babushka, UKTV’s The Dressing Room and ITV2′s Safeword.
Prior to joining STV Productions, Johns served as a development executive for UK television prodco Victory Television, the BBC and ITV Studios where he also held the post as a senior producer on two series of the survival reality program I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.
“We have ambitious plans for the unscripted slate both here in the UK and internationally and Nick’s wealth of development experience, creative leadership and strong network relationships provides us with the final pillar to underpin an incredibly strong creative team,” said Tyekiff in a statement.
