Sky Arts UK takes Travis doc from Limonero Films
Sky Arts UK has acquired Fran Healy’s directorial debut Almost Fashionable: A Film About Travis from London-based indie distributor Limonero Films.
The hour-long film (pictured), which won the audience award at the Edinburgh International Television Festival, follows music critic Wyndham Wallace as he is invited to cover the Mexican tour of one of his least favorite bands, Travis.
Wallace seeks to understand the reason for his resentment against the Scottish band through candid interviews with the band, fans and other music journalists.
Quest Red commissions Full Fat TV for “The Bad Skin Clinic”
Women-focused free-to-air entertainment channel Quest Red in the UK has commissioned Full Fat TV to produced The Bad Skin Clinic.
The 8 x 60-minute series will follow dermatologist and dermatological surgeon Dr. Emma Craythorne and her team of experts as they meet, treat and transform the lives of those impacted by debilitating skin conditions ranging from giant blackheads and cysts, to lumps and lipomas, and more.
Deirdre Dowling is executive producer for Quest Red and Colette Foster for Full Fat TV.
Nine recommissions Endemol Shine Australia’s “Lego Masters”
Australian net Nine has recommissioned Lego Masters for a second season.
Produced by Endemol Shine Australia, the format sees eight pairs of contestants tasked with creating models and masterpieces out of Lego. Competing teams are required to conceptualize and craft masterful works in order to garner the AU$100,000 cash reward.
The sophomore season of Lego Masters will begin production later this year and will bow on Nine in 2020.
Lego Masters is adapted from an original UK format from Tuesday’s Child and The Lego Group.
Meanwhile, Endemol Shine North America and Tuesday’s Child are teaming with Brad Pitt’s production company Plan B to bring the show to the U.S.
