Glasgow-headquartered content creator STV Productions has tapped former Channel 4 commissioner Ramy El-Bergamy as head of development for daytime and popular factual, effective May 20.
In his new role, El-Bergamy will join Jim Regan, head of daytime and popular factual, to build STV Productions’ footprint in the genre, which includes Antiques Road Trip and Celebrity Antiques Road Trip, both for BBC.
El-Bergamy joins STV from UK pubcaster Channel 4 where he served as a commissioning executive of daytime, looking after such brands as A Place in the Sun and Four in a Bed. Additionally, El-Bergamy also served as the channels On Screen Diversity executive working across various genres and departments.

El-Bergamy’s appointment forms part of STV’s three-year growth plan, through which the business is investing £15 million (US$19 million) in content and digital to position STV as a major creative force in Scotland and internationally.
