Bristol-based indie back2back is teaming with British commercial broadcaster UKTV and Viasat World on an access-led series that delves into the multi-billion dollar world of Britain’s delivery business.

Ultimate Movers will start each episode from the nation’s ports and warehouses, before moving onto the companies and employees that specialize in different areas of delivery. The cast of real characters, who keep the UK moving around the clock, must battle deadlines, the elements and endless logistical challenges to get the precious cargoes to their destination on time and in one piece.

The series is slated for release later this year on UKTV’s Dave channel.

Ultimate Movers will be executive produced by back2back founder David Notman-Watt with Dave channel director Luke Hales, and Daniel Thomas for UKTV. Series producer is Chris Barham. UKTV acquisitions manager Daniel Thomas brokered the pre-investment deal for UKTV.

UK distributor DCD Rights holds the global rights for the series.

Elsewhere, former Channel 4 commissioning editor Stef Wagstaffe (pictured) has been appointed to the role of development executive.

The creative team, now led by Wagstaffe, is currently in production on more than 60 hours of both new and returning programming.

While at C4, Wagstaffe launched titles including Great Canal Journeys and Married at First Sight, amongst others.

Wagstaffe started her career in the UK as a documentary filmmaker, focusing on vulnerable youth, crime and homelessness. She then moved to the U.S. where she served as showrunner on multiple seasons of Wife Swap. While in the U.S., she also launched CBS’ Undercover Boss.
