UK pubcaster Channel 4 has inked a year-long output deal with indie Barcroft Studios for a raft of short-form factual digital films.
Barcroft Studios will produce more than 100 original factual films that will stream on the 4Real strand, intended for distribution on social channels and aimed at young audiences.
The deal marks the first commission for the pubcaster’s newly formed Digital Creative Unit (DCU).
Prodco CEO Sam Barcroft will executive produce, and collaborate with the DCU team.
“We’ll work together to discover and launch grassroots talent and formats for the future that will resonate with youth audiences where they spend their screen time,” said Barcroft, in a statement.
