Discovery-owned Food Network is stepping into summer with Southern dishes in its latest culinary series Delicious Miss Brown.

Shot on location in Charleston, South Carolina, and produced by Switchblade Entertainment, the six-part series follows cook and caterer Kardea Brown as she shares the family events, culture and recipes that have most impacted her life – including Sunday supper after crabbing on the dock, a low country boil at the beach and shrimp boating.

Brown, a contemporary Southern cook, was born and raised on the Sea Islands of Charleston, where she grew up in a large family that loved food and began cooking as a child in her grandmother’s kitchen, where she learned to make the traditional dishes of the region.

She also serves as host of Food Network’s forthcoming competition series Cupcake Championship and has appeared on Beat Bobby Flay, Chopped Junior, Cooks vs. Cons, Family Food Showdown and Farmhouse Rules.

Delicious Miss Brown premieres July 28 at 11:30 a.m. ET/PT on Food Network.
