British television- and documentary-focused prodco Noah Media Group has launched an in-house international distribution division.
The London-based sales arm will be headed up industry veteran Catherine Quantschnigg, who most recently served as head of sales at Anthony Geffen‘s factual prodco Atlantic Productions. Prior to this, she held executive sales positions at Goldcrest and Cornerstone Films.
In addition to the roll out, Noah Media Group has secured major SVOD and TV sales with Amazon Prime Video and the BBC on Barney Douglas’s feature-length documentary The Edge (pictured), which documents the rise of the England Test cricket team from the depths of the International Cricket Council’s rankings to become the first English side to reach the ranking of world number one.
Noah’s distribution unit will embark on global sales of the film at next month’s MIPCOM market in Cannes. The Edge is now available on Amazon Prime Video in the UK, and BBC2 will provide the feature doc with its exclusive television debut in 2020.
The company’s inaugural MIPCOM slate also includes the Cannes-selected Steve McQueen: The Man & Le Mans, Take His Legs and British football history doc Out Of Their Skin.
“As a young, independent company with a fast-growing slate, we feel it is important to keep evolving in the constantly changing media world, and our sales arm is our next stage in this,” said Noah Media Group CEO John McKenna in a statement.
“The appeal of intelligent, sport-focused documentaries has never been greater, and these partners are a testament to the important topics addressed in The Edge,” added Quantschnigg. “We look forward to bringing our unique slate to the international market place.”
