Sky-owned UK-based prodco and distributor Sky Vision is splitting up its business and restructuring, as first announced in April.
The change will take effect tomorrow (Oct. 1) and will see the company’s sales arm transfer to NBCUniversal Global Distribution, while its production and deficit funding activities will move to the newly formed Sky Studios.
Sky Vision was founded as an indie in 2012 and grew to invest in 10 production companies in the UK and U.S. while bringing in revenues in excess of £240 million (US$296 million).
“On behalf of the entire Sky Vision team, I would like to thank you for your partnership and collaboration. We all know this is a people business, and without great partners and clients, we would not have been able to achieve even a fraction of our success,” said Jane Millichip, CCO Sky Studios and managing director of Sky Vision, in a statement.
“I would like to take this final opportunity to pay tribute to my brilliant colleagues at Sky Vision; a more talented, professional and dedicated team you will not find.”
