Former Roc Nation exec Patrick Reardon has been named president of unscripted TV prodco Jupiter Entertainment.
In his new role, Reardon (pictured) will oversee all creative — from development to current — and be responsible for day-to-day operations at Jupiter’s New York and Knoxville offices. His remit will include generating original formats and character-driven series for broadcast, cable and streaming platforms.
He will report directly to Jupiter founder and CEO Stephen Land.
Reardon was previously executive vice president of television at Roc Nation, a position he has held since April of last year. Before that, he was EVP of television at the Weinstein Company. He co-produced several projects with Jupiter while at Roc Nation and the Weinstein Company.
“Having worked with Patrick for a long time, we know he has an incredible creative vision and a passion for quality production,” said Land in a statement. “His successful track record in developing fresh ideas and producing premium content, especially documentary series and male factual programming, will further fuel Jupiter as we prioritize those spaces.”
“I’ve known and collaborated with Stephen and his incredibly talented team for years, so it’s an honor to be joining such a prolific company,” added Reardon. “I look forward to building on their success and continuing to set the bar for premium content across all genres.”
Current Jupiter president Allison Wallach plans to step down at the end of the year to explore new options, although she remains in discussion with the company about possible roles going forward.
“For over a decade, Allison has contributed greatly to Jupiter’s success, first as our agent and then as our president,” said Land. “We are confident our paths will cross again as she explores her next chapter.”
Jupiter’s current slate includes Snapped for Oxygen, In Pursuit with John Walsh for ID, Southern Gothic for ID, Homicide Hunter for ID, Killer Couples for Oxygen, and an as-yet unannounced feature doc.
