All3Media-owned Objective Media Group (OMG) has established a new quiz and game show label, with TV production and development veteran Ed de Burgh and television presenter Ben Shephard at the helm.
Launching with immediate effect, the as-yet titled production outfit serves as a bespoke home for quiz and game show ideas within the OMG umbrella.
De Burgh currently serves as a development executive within OMG where he oversees and develops Objective’s heritage brands. His past credits include ITV’s 5 Gold Rings, You’re Back in the Room and the pilot for What Would Your Kid Do?, as well as BBC1′s Michael McIntyre’s Big Show and Pointless, Channel 4′s The Million Pound Drop and 15 to 1.
The executive also previously served as a Channel 4 commissioning editor for entertainment where he oversaw The Big Fat Quiz of the Year, Alan Carr: Chatty Man, Celebrity 15 to 1 and Alan Carr’s New Year Specstacular.
Shephard, meanwhile, has previously presented Tipping Point, Tipping Point: Lucky Stars, Good Morning Britain, This Morning, Ninja Warrior UK and The Krypton Factor for ITV; Goals on Sunday for Sky Sports; and The National Lottery: 1 vs 100 for BBC1.
“The idea of bringing together the two brilliant quiz and game minds of Ed and Ben was impossible to resist,” said OMG’s CEO Layla Smith and commercial director Holly Pye in a joint statement. “They are perfectly placed to develop and deliver shows not only for the UK market, but that also have the potential to travel, and we are excited to see what they come up with,”
“The chance to work with Ben was too good an opportunity to miss. Between us we’ve worked on so many great shows, we now want to create the next generation of quiz and game formats and working with OMG is the ideal place to do that,” added de Burgh.
