Viacom-owned VH1 is sashaying into a celebrity expansion of Emmy Award-winning franchise RuPaul’s Drag Race.

Greenlit for 2020, RuPaul’s Celebrity Drag Race will serve as a four-part event series featuring 12 famous faces competing for the first-ever title of America’s Next Celebrity Drag Superstar, with the prize money heading to the charity of their choice.

Each episode of the World of Wonder Productions series will follow three celebrities undergoing a complete drag transformation with help from the franchise’s most iconic queens.

Doling out drag makeovers throughout the event series will be Alyssa Edwards, Asia O’Hara, Bob the Drag Queen, Kim Chi, Monét X Change, Monique Heart, Nina West, Trinity the Tuck, Trixie Mattel and Vanessa Vanjie Mateo.

The celebrity cast and premiere date is to be announced.

RuPaul’s Celebrity Drag Race is executive produced by Fenton Bailey, Randy Barbato, Tom Campbell, Steven Corfe, Mandy Salangsang, San Heng and RuPaul Charles. Tim Palazzola is executive producer for VH1 and Jen Passovoy is producer.

“Doing drag does not change who you are, it reveals who you are,” said RuPaul Charles, a four-time Emmy Award-winning host and executive producer, in a statement. “I can’t wait for the world to see what happens when our celebrity contestants get all up in drags.”
