British commercial network ITV has commissioned Studio Ramsay to produce a five-part factual series spotlighting the first luxury hotel in the UK.

Filmed over the busy winter season, The Savoy (5 x 60 minutes) will provide an exclusive look into the experience of being a guest at the iconic London hotel, which has sat alongside the River Thames for more than 130 years.

The docuseries will also chart the hard working characters behind-the-scenes that help run The Savoy, while also documenting the challenges they face to ensure all guests experience their perfect getaway.

The Savoy is executive produced by Studio Ramsay’s Gordon Ramsay¬†and Sebastian Grant, with chief creative officer Lisa Edwards. The series is directed by Sam Campbell and produced by Naomi Gayler. It was commissioned by ITV’s Kate Teckman, head of development & commissioning editor for fact-ent, and Sue Murphy, head of fact-ent.

“With unparalleled access to the intoxicating world of this most iconic of British institutions, this is the story of The Savoy as we have never seen before,” said Teckman in a statement. “The immersive innovation of the rig promises an extraordinary insight into the real drama and intrigue of one of the world’s most glamorous hotels.”
