Discovery-owned female skewing lifestyle cable net TLC is set to launch a reality series about couples in mixed-weight relationships.

Hot & Heavy follows three couples, each made up of a straight size man and a plus size woman. The series explores their relationships as well as the challenges that come with social norms and expectations that don’t always line up with their love for each other.

The three couples each face their own unique challenges, from judgmental friends and family, to public ridicule, to parenting disagreements, along with broader social stigma.

The series is produced by This Is Just A Test for TLC.

Hot & Heavy premieres Jan 7 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on TLC.
