UK-based producer-distributor Parade Media has appointed Debbie Manners, investment director at Station 12, to its board of directors.
Manners (pictured) takes up the role through the London-based advisory and investment firm as part of its “ongoing support” for Parade Media. Welsh-language broadcaster S4C and Station 12 invested in Parade Media back in 2015.
The former Keo Films chief has previously served as CEO at BBC Studios, chief operating officer of Hat Trick Productions, commercial director of RDF Media and director of rights at Flextech TV.
Manners started her career at the BBC, where she worked for nearly two decades in a number of commercial and business roles. As director of rights and business affairs, she was responsible for the British pubcaster’s external business relationships, including independent commissioning, on screen talent, archive and commercial exploitation across TV, radio, digital and film.
From 2010 to 2015, she served as the chair of UK trade association Pact.
“The depth and breadth of Debbie’s experience and reputation are second to none, and the short time we have worked together it’s clear that we are a fantastic cultural fit, and aligned in our objective to grow the business through key partnerships,” Matthew Ashcroft, CEO of Parade Media, said in a statement.
Manners added: “Although there is undoubtedly tough competition in the market as the super indies get ever bigger, I believe Parade offers a highly proactive and effective alternative for independent producers looking to maximize the international value of their IP.”
