Discovery has commissioned two new automotive shows from Manchester- and Leeds-based prodco Workerbee for its British, male-skewing free-to-air channel Quest .

Motor Pickers (12 x 30 minutes) will follow classic car expert Paul Cowland and builder-restorer Helen Stanley as they help car buyers select a used vehicle within their budget — from SUVs to high end sports cars.

World’s Greatest Cars (6 x 60 minutes), meanwhile, will bring together car experts — including Mike Brewer,  Jimmy De Ville, Ant Anstead, Helen Stanley, Paul Cowland and Drew Pritchard, Marc Priestley, Karun Chandhok, Vicki Butler-Henderson and Rory Reid — to showcase the “best cars ever made.”

Each episode will be themed and will feature a different type of car, from supercars to 4×4′s and rally cars.

Executive producers for Discovery are Rob Holloway and Jon Stephens. Rick Murray is executive producer for Workerbee, part of Banijay UK.

Simon Downing, SVP and head of factual and sport at Discovery UK, and Victoria Noble, VP of original content and factual at Discovery, ordered the shows.

Noble previously worked on Wheeler Dealers, Goblin Works Garage, Fifth Gear and Salvage Hunters: Classic Cars.
