Alex Gibney’s Jigsaw Productions will produce the travel docuseries Sex Plants (w/t), fronted by actress and comedian Jenny Slate, for short-form mobile streamer Quibi.

Slate (pictured) will meet with sex plant pioneers — researchers, gurus, healers and sexperts — who have dedicated their lives to botanically-aided sex positivity while exploring the facts and the hype surrounding these supposedly erotic roots, barks and leaves.

Richard Perello and Stacey Offman serve as executive producers for Jigsaw alongside Slate.

Jigsaw has produced some of the most acclaimed documentary films including Going Clear: Scientology and the Prison of Belief, Oscar-winning Taxi to the Dark Side, Oscar-nominated Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room, Zero Days, Divide and Conquer: The Story of Roger Ailes and the Emmy-nominated The Inventor: Out for Blood in Silicon Valley, to name a few.

Recently, Gibney teamed with New York-based distributor Neon and co-directors Ophelia Harutyunyan and Suzanne Hillinger on the documentary Totally Under Control, which will examine the U.S. federal government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
